Case Study: The Jean Louis Palladin Foundation

Back Ground:

The Jean-Louis Palladin Foundation was incorporated in June, 2002 to serve as an ongoing tribute to the memory of chef Jean-Louis Palladin. The goal is to create a memorial to his career of uncompromising determination to seek out and use the best ingredients, mentor talent wherever he found it, and encourage creativity among chefs.

When Jean-Louis became ill, his friends, colleagues and customers sprang into action to help him. Benefit dinners were held all over America to raise money for his medical expenses. When Jean-Louis passed away in November 2001, the outpouring of generosity by those who rallied to his cause had been so great that a surplus of funds had been accumulated. These funds have been used to initially fund the Jean-Louis Palladin Foundation.

The vision and mission of a foundation are its reasons for existing. The vision statement motivates our organization and articulates its future. The mission statements tell us what we will focus our energies on.

The Problem:

In keeping with its mission, the Jean-Louis Palladin foundation needed an impressive memorial to celebrate Jean-Louis and to solicit support for the cause of the foundation. In order to solicit support effectively, with limited resources, the foundation needed a website that was impressive, could communicate the message, honor the memory of Jean-Louis, register members, and collect donations online.

Solution:

BIS Global completely overhauled the design of the jlpfoundation.org website. After creating a successful design that accomplished the goals required by the foundation, we integrated a custom secure membership signup and donation form that allows visitors to donate and become members of the foundation online. During the process, registrants enter their credit cards, which are securely processed online, and then their information is registered in a membership database. Foundation staff have access to this membership database so that they can correspond directly with members and benefactors.

Furthermore, after visitors register and become members, they have immediate access via a username and password to a secure area of the foundation website, where the foundation provides them with proprietary information, including recipes, videos and other information. All of this information is controlled on the site via a custom content management system that was designed and implemented by BIS Global.

Finally, BIS Global linked up all of the registration forms and newsletter forms on the website so that they connect to our Smart Mailer software to allow the foundation to grow their database of contacts and provide real time correspondence with these groups with the push of a button.
