History
BIS Global was founded in 2000, as Millennium Technology
Group, by Philip J. Schmitz,
Michael B. Sperling,
Millard Bennett,
Donald Sperling,
and Joseph Schmitz. Headquartered in Rockville, MD, Millennium
Technology Group provided expert technology consulting and deployment
services to local Washington, DC Metro Area businesses. Millennium
Technology Group's expertise came from the technology and marketing
backgrounds of its founders, Philip J. Schmitz
and Michael B. Sperling. The resources
and direction critical to the company's
fledgling years came from Millard Bennett,
Donald Sperling,
and Joseph Schmitz.
In early 2002, Millennium Technology Group relocated its corporate office to Bethesda, MD and
began doing business under the trade name Bethesda Hosting. This move was an effort by co-founder,
Philip J. Schmitz, to penetrate the local hosting and application services market while growing
the company in a stable manner. Mr. Schmitz had seen the pitfalls that led to the demise of many
technology firms at the end of the millennium and was committed to ensuring that the same fate did
not befall Millennium Technology Group. Furthermore, Mr. Schmitz had a vision to truly separate
Millennium Technology Group from the rest of the technology providers and deliver greater value to
its customers by truly offering one stop technology services from a single source. From 2002 until
2005, Millennium Technology Group accomplished this goal and grew from a handful of customers to over
350 clients in the Washington, DC Metro Area and beyond. During this growth period, the company
invested heavily in its personnel and infrastructure so that today, it is truly different than most
technology providers because Millennium Technology Group can guarantee value and deliver customer
service since all of its products and services are delivered in-house and on its infrastructure.
Critical to Millennium Technology Group's growth from 2002 to 2005, was the addition of Hossein
Noshirvani to the company's board of directors. Mr. Noshirvani's background in
technology, sales and marketing have been fundamental to the company's recent growth.
In 2006, after steady and consistent growth, Millennium Technology Group decided to re-brand
the company as BIS Global. Mr. Schmitz believed that this image change
was critical to the company moving forward because it more accurately articulated what the company
does and opened the door to a many new markets that the company was poised to serve. BIS Global served over 400 customers in the United States, Puerto Rico, Germany and Japan
at the beginning of 2006. The company has a proven track record of delivering successful solutions
ranging from corporate identity solutions to software integration projects to web development services
to data hosting solutions. BIS Global is poised to double its growth in 2006 and
continue to provide its clients with the best value in the industry.
