Data Center

Data Center Specifications

Routers and Servers

  • Fully redundant high-end Cisco routing equipment
  • High availability commercial grade servers
  • Fault tolerant storage subsystem
  • Backup storage at local and remote locations
  • 24 x 7 monitoring of all critical servers, backup storage components and services

All of BIS Global' routers and switching equipment are redundant. The connectivity paths throughout the Data Center facility have no single point of failure or single point of entry for unauthorized users. This also includes data center connectivity paths to external networks.

Environment Control

  • Temperature maintained at 68° +/- 2°
  • Humidity maintained at 45%o Over 60 tons of total cooling capacity
  • Temperature and humidity computer monitored
  • Laser Smoke Detection System
  • Fire suppression systems

To provide optimum conditions for equipment operation and minimize potential equipment failure the HVAC system provides appropriate airflow and temperature and humidity control. The HVAC system also maintains an N+1 redundancy configuration.

BIS Global maintains an early warning fire and smoke detection system (Laser Smoke Detection System) throughout its data center. Sensory mechanisms (sniffers) sample the air and provide early warning alarms to notify BIS Global staff before any problem occurs. In addition, the facility meets or exceeds all local fire code regulations for heat and smoke detection. Dry fire suppression systems such as Halon gas extinguishers are in place throughout the equipment area in order to suppress any fire prior to activation of the last resort water sprinkler fire suppression system. Water will only disperse in the event of melted sprinkler heads. (Sprinkler heads melt at approximately 190* F). Any water discharge will be sprinkler-head specific, which minimizes potential damage caused by overspray.

Power

  • Electrical network connected directly to multi-substation power grid.
  • Dual 80 KW UPS power with on-line batteries
  • 450 KW emergency diesel generatoro Automatic Power Transfer Switch (ATS) for entire load to generator.
  • 1,000 gallon on-site fuel tank with contracts to fuel generator indefinitely.
  • Manual Transfer Switch (MTS) in the event of a primary generator failure.

BIS Global will provide 24x7x365 power supply with backup generator support and UPS battery backup service. Quality AC power is distributed via BIS Global' UPS system with continuous feed to eliminate switching time and provide clean power to hardware. Each AC line installed receives its own 20 amp internal circuit breaker with voltage regulation to protect against over-voltage or brownouts.

Additional power options are available. UPS - The UPS system in place is designed to provide continuous feed clean power to the data center and the necessary support equipment. Batteries are designed to provide enough power to support the necessary systems until power is brought online via backup diesel generator service. (Diesel generators take roughly 8 seconds to become operational). At current load, the UPS system in place could function for over 8 hours of continuous use. The UPS and backup generator system is tested on a weekly basis (every Sunday). Dual Redundant Feed. The entire facility employs an N+1 design or greater including networking equipment, cooling equipment and power supply equipment. In addition, there are dual incoming power feeds from independent power grids from the local power company.

Security

At BIS Global we share our customer's concerns about the security of their equipment and data, and we have deployed the most stringent measures to protect our customer's assets. We have a wide range of security features at all of our locations and require advance notification and a valid photo ID for any visitor admittance to our facilities. In addition, BIS Global' NOC employs:

  • Limited building access (electronic security card access during non-business hours)
  • Dual locked entrance doors in a "man-trap" configuration
  • Controlled access by an access database, pass cards, and visual identification
  • 24 x 7 on-site staff o Video surveillance and CCTV with online monitoringo 24 x 7 surveillance cameras located throughout the facility
  • Automatically triggered alarms in case of a security breach

In addition to BIS Global' standard security measures, BIS Global will place all of the customer's equipment within a custom-built wire cage. Access to the caged area will be limited to specified personal determined by the customer and or BIS Global. In addition, the caged area is monitored by video surveillance.
